Olive is a 709D Campervan registered as such on the V5 Fully kitted out for off-grid living as seen in the pictures. History: She is called Olive and has been my home for 3+ years. She started life as a Great Almond St hospital Children’s coach and was lovingly converted into a motor home in 2002 with a high specification as a van to live in. The engine was overhauled in 2002 and she was fully serviced by Rossetts, an authorized Mercedes Benz dealership in 2009 by her previous owner of 8 years. She has since been very well maintained with yearly services of all oils/filters changed including gearbox and diff. She was given a full service and a clean bill of health except for teeth wear on the flywheel which was replaced and various service items by her previous owner. Underneath she was and is completely solid and well presented. She had an upgrade in 2012 to fit the 4 meter Fiamma awning, replace both the skylights and a full check and service at a cost of £2550. In 2020, a additional solar panel was added and Victron charging controllers/split chargers were installed amongst other items at a cost of £1600. Insider there are mostly upgraded LED lights and a dimmer-controlled light in the front living compartment. Addition of Fiamma privacy room which attaches to awning and creates large protected extension, doubling her ground space, for extra people sleeping, bike storage, more dining space etc, brilliant and as new, this has never been used. She had a further upgrade in 2014 at a cost of £5,600 to remodel the inside to hold the fixed double bed, fit a new water heater, a 70 lite LPG tank, etc. All documented. I have looked after her well and she has looked after me beautifully. Certainly not perfect and if I was to keep her the next jobs are to replace a cracked window in the back door, attend to some small rust spots, change the oven which is past its best and not used any longer and replace the loose cutlery draw. There is also staining on the roof from the log burner flu. She is able to go anywhere and keep going all day; I would trust her on any journey. DHL still uses these vans and they do over 1,000,000 miles and with all parts still manufactured I guess she is still young? Olive is fully set up for off-grid living. We have had a great time traveling in Spain and Portugal however on return I have used her less and less of late its time to pass her on some more adventurous souls who will hopefully feel as excited in her as I have done in my adventures. Olive was MOT’d and fully serviced in June however has remained parked up since. She is fully set up for her new owners to move into and start her next Specification: Mercedes 709D First registered 15-10-1990 Body type Motor caravan with tow bar (Registered) Taxation class Private/light goods Engine size 3972cc, non-electric, and is known as the million mile engine.
